Initial officer formation
French Naval Academy

Initial training at the French Naval Academy combined engineering coursework with leadership development and hands-on shipboard qualification — the foundation for service as an engineering officer aboard French Navy vessels.

  • Engineering coursework covering propulsion and power-generation systems, laying the technical foundation for the ENPRO specialty.
  • Leadership training focused on team command, decision-making under pressure, and officer responsibility at sea.
  • Firefighter training, flooding response, live-fire drills, and shipboard damage-control exercises.

Mission Jeanne d'Arc 2021

Jeanne d'Arc is the French Navy's annual long-range deployment for newly-commissioned officers, combining an operational mission with the final phase of their training. • Managed engineering coordination and operational support during the international deployment, in high-pressure, high-responsibility environments.
